Fig: Video Editor · Watermelon Man Studio

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you use Fig: Video Editor (“Fig”) or contact Watermelon Man Studio.

Summary

Fig does not require an account. Video, photo, and audio editing is performed on your device, and Watermelon Man Studio does not receive or store the media files, project contents, or exported videos you edit in Fig. The release version uses Google services for consent management, rewarded advertising, limited analytics, and crash reporting as described below.

Media files and projects

Fig accesses only the media you choose through Android's system file or media pickers. Selected media is processed locally on your device. Your project data and editing choices are stored in the app's private local storage. Temporary preview and export files may also be created locally while the app is working.

Completed exports are saved to the device's shared media library, normally in Movies/Fig, and can be shared using Android's share features. Deleting a project in Fig does not delete its source media or completed exports. Uninstalling Fig removes the app's private project data and caches, but completed exports in the shared media library must be deleted separately.

Fig does not upload your selected media, project timeline, or exported files to Watermelon Man Studio servers. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup by the app's configuration.

Analytics

Fig uses Google Analytics for Firebase after the app's consent flow has produced a usable privacy decision. Analytics is disabled by default until that point.

The app records a limited set of product events, including project creation, the type and number of imported items, export quality, rewarded-export outcomes, and whether an export started, completed, or failed. These custom events do not include project names, project identifiers, filenames, file paths, media addresses, media titles, user-entered text, or raw error messages. Fig does not set a Firebase user ID or custom user properties. Collection of the Android advertising ID and Analytics ad-personalization signals is disabled in the app configuration.

Google Analytics for Firebase may also collect app, device, usage, and diagnostic information automatically as described by Google. Watermelon Man Studio uses this information to understand basic feature use and improve reliability.

Crash reporting

Release versions of Fig use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports, application-not-responding reports, stack traces, and related app, device, and diagnostic information. Debug builds do not send Crashlytics reports.

Fig does not intentionally attach project names, media filenames, file paths, media addresses, or user-entered content to Crashlytics reports. App-generated non-fatal reports are sanitized before being sent. Crashlytics information is used to diagnose defects and improve stability.

Advertising and consent

Fig uses Google User Messaging Platform to gather and manage privacy choices where required. If privacy options are required for your region or circumstances, they are available in Fig under Settings → Advertising privacy options.

Fig uses Google AdMob rewarded ads for some exports. 720p export does not require an ad; higher-resolution exports may offer a rewarded ad. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, consent choices, ad interactions, and diagnostic information, subject to the user's choices, device settings, region, age, and Google's policies. Watermelon Man Studio does not operate its own advertising data server.

Fig limits ads to Google's G content rating. Advertising personalization, where permitted, follows the user's consent choices and applicable requirements.

If consent does not permit ad requests, Fig does not initialize or preload Mobile Ads. Availability and personalization of ads may vary.

Information you provide to us

If you contact Watermelon Man Studio for support or a privacy request, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message. Do not send media files or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request.

Permissions

Fig may use network access for Google consent, advertising, analytics, and crash-reporting services. Foreground-service, notification, and wake-lock capabilities support long-running video export and its progress notification. Media is selected through Android's system pickers, and completed videos are published through Android's media library.

You can control available permissions in Android settings. Some features may not work if a required permission or system capability is unavailable.

Third-party services

Fig uses services provided by Google, including Google Play services, Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Crashlytics. Google processes information under its own terms and privacy practices:

Watermelon Man Studio does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by Google as a provider of consent management, advertising, analytics, and crash-reporting services, as described in this policy.

Where the laws of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction require a legal basis for processing personal information, Watermelon Man Studio relies on the following legal bases:

  • consent, where required, for personalized advertising, advertising-related storage, and related processing;
  • legitimate interests in maintaining application security, diagnosing crashes, preventing abuse, and improving application reliability, provided those interests are not overridden by the rights and interests of the user;
  • performance of the service requested by the user for on-device media selection, editing, export, and sharing; and
  • compliance with applicable legal obligations where necessary.

You may withdraw consent through the privacy options available in Fig where supported. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before the withdrawal.

International data processing

Google services used by Fig may process and store information on infrastructure located in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, Google and Watermelon Man Studio rely on legally recognized safeguards and transfer mechanisms for international processing. More information is available in Firebase's privacy and security information and the Google Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Watermelon Man Studio does not retain your media files, projects, or exports on its servers because the app does not send them to us. Local projects and caches remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall Fig. Exported videos remain in the shared media library until you delete them.

According to Firebase's published privacy information, Firebase Crashlytics retains crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning their removal from live and backup systems.

Google determines retention for analytics, crash-reporting, consent, and advertising data it processes under its policies and the service settings used by Watermelon Man Studio. Support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and protect legitimate interests.

Your choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding personal information processed by Watermelon Man Studio. You may contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Because Fig does not use accounts and we do not receive your media or project data, we may not be able to associate third-party service data with a particular person.

Depending on your location, you may also have the right to withdraw consent, receive a copy of certain personal information, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority responsible for your country or region.

If processing is based on consent, withdrawing consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal.

You can revise available advertising choices through Settings → Advertising privacy options, use Android's privacy and advertising controls, delete local projects inside Fig, delete exported videos in your gallery, clear Fig's app data, or uninstall the app.

Children

Fig is primarily intended for users aged 13 or older, or the minimum age required by law in the user's country or region. Fig is not directed or specifically marketed to children under 13. Users under 13 or the applicable minimum age should use Fig only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

If Watermelon Man Studio learns that a child's personal information was collected in violation of applicable requirements, we will take reasonable steps to review and delete it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keeping media processing on the device limits the media data sent to us, but third-party network services remain subject to their own security practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Fig's features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
